Functional System Integration Engineer for OT-Development

As a Functional System Integration Engineer, you will play a central role in the planning, design, development and implementation of future IT and OT systems, with a particular focus on integrations between new railway traffic management and traffic planning systems. The solutions support Banedanmark's core business and constitute critical national IT infrastructure, which places high demands on accuracy, stability, security, monitoring and maintenance.

About the role

We are looking for a Functional System Integration Engineer for the operational railway IT organisation, who will contribute to the IT support of Denmark's largest infrastructure initiative – the Signalling Programme. In this role, you will ensure the functional correctness, consistency, and coherence of integrations between traffic planning, traffic management, and surrounding operational systems in a railway OT environment. The role focuses on data models, interface behaviour, and end-to-end functional outcomes, working alongside system designers, technical architects, and test teams.

Work tasks

As a Functional System Integration Engineer, you will participate in the definition and maintenance of functional interface specifications, ensuring the interfaces support operational use cases, in collaboration with others in the area. You will also be responsible for analysing the functional impact of integration change across the systems and supporting the Design Authorities with integration-level assessments and recommendations. Additionally, you will work closely with different parts of the Banedanmark’s organization to create a foundation for ownership and governance of data semantics and data models across integrated OT systems.

Qualifications

You have a relevant academic degree on bachelor or master level.

You have experience with requirements specification and technical design and a solid interest in IT infrastructure. You have experience working with message-based integrations, in integrated OT or mission-critical systems, preferably in rail or transport. Additionally, you have an in-depth understanding of system integration patterns, interface behaviour and dependencies, as well as data models and data semantics. Prior experiences in supplier-heavy environments, familiarity with railway standards and operational processes, and knowledge of system engineering and V-model practices are appreciated. Finally, you communicate effectively in English – both written and spoken.

Salary and employment

You will be employed according to the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC. Salary is determined based on your experience and qualifications, and pension is included as part of the total salary package.

The position is by default placed in group XX.
