A-TAP: Functional Genomics Researcher at University of Southern Denmark

An A-TAP position is available in the group of Associate Professors Lars Grøntved at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense.

The research group investigate gene regulatory mechanisms involved in cell state transitions. We use the mouse liver as model system combined with various genomics-based technologies such as single cell RNA-seq, single cell ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq to understand dynamic regulation of chromatin organization and gene expression. We specifically investigate dynamic gene regulation in the context of circadian rhythm, fasting, obesity induced liver disease and the treatments by weight loss.

We seek a highly motivated person with a strong scientific background and track record in eukaryotic transcriptional regulation. The successful candidate should hold a master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry and/or cellular biology with specific interest in eukaryotic transcriptional regulation. Prior experience with animal work, isolation of primary cells, mammalian cell culture, and gene expression analysis is considered an advantage. Candidates with experience in genome-wide technologies such as ChIP-seq and RNA-seq and bioinformatic analysis are encouraged to apply.

The applicant is expected to contribute to the departmental teaching and to support the department’s general functions and infrastructure. Moreover, the applicant is expected to take an active part in the ATLAS center of excellence and in the coordination of animal experiments and breeding of mouse cohorts at the biomedical laboratory, OUH, SDU.

Application deadline: October 1st 2025

Start date: November 1st 2025
