Laboratory Technician - DTU Chemical Engineering Green Tech

At DTU Chemical Engineering, we are looking for a detail-oriented laboratory technician to perform routine measurements and help ensure that our state-of-the-art laboratory continues to create value. You will support students in getting started with experiments and carry out measurements in the laboratory.

Our projects include, among other areas, CO2 capture, making this position a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to the green transition. As part of our team, you will play an important role in advancing sustainable technologies while supporting both education and research.

The job

You will be a key contributor to the ongoing projects at DTU Chemical Engineering. Our large, well-equipped laboratory is used daily by both PhD students, Postdocs, researchers, and students, and we are looking for someone who can help ensure its smooth and reliable operation.

Over time, several projects have accumulated a significant number of samples that need to be measured, and we need a dedicated person who can take ownership of this process. You will also act as a unifying presence in the lab ensuring that experimental setups and equipment function properly and providing introductions to students on how to use them effectively.

Since personal safety is of the utmost importance, participation in the institute’s safety committee will also be a natural part of your role.

Primary responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of liquid samples using techniques such as titration, FTIR, solubility, and ion chromatography
  • Supervise and maintain existing laboratory setups on an ongoing basis
  • Introduce students to laboratory setups and guide them in their use
  • Assist students as they begin their laboratory work in terms of instruction and safety
  • Participate actively in the safety committee

Salary and appointment terms

The salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the OAO-S collective agreement and the organizational agreement for office workers, laboratory technicians, and IT employees (HK/Stat). 

The average working hours will be 37 hours per week. The start date will be determined by mutual agreement.

The workplace is DTU Chemical Engineering in Lyngby.
