SDU eScience Center: Student Research Support Role

Would you like to work with cutting-edge IT-technology in a research-like environment? The SDU eScience Center (SDU Odense) is currently looking for motivated students who have an interest in data science, computer science, software engineering and/or HPC/cloud computing.

The SDU eScience Center is a leading center for research infrastructure for supercomputing and cloud computing in Denmark. We provide Danish national supercomputing services and we’re involved in several prestigious, international projects. Working with us, you will have the opportunity to learn from leading experts within the field, be a part of an international, research-like environment and develop your own skills and talents.

About the role
As part of the research support unit, your main tasks will be to help researchers address questions related to our cloud computing platform, UCloud.

The research support unit currently consists of three employees with long expertise in scientific research, programming and software engineering, as well as one student helper.

What we expect from you
We expect that you are currently a bachelor or graduate student with a strong background in computer science, data science, applied mathematics, physics or engineering. Candidates with good programming skills in Python and/or R will be preferred.

Working hours
We expect the positions to be 10-15 hours per week with highly flexible working hours to fit a student’s schedule, including exam periods.

Condition of Employment
We expect to fill 1 or more positions. The starting date for the positions is as soon as possible, and it will be agreed with the successful candidates. The initial appointments are for a limited time period of 3 months with the possibility of extension.

Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Prosa.
