Postdoc in nutrition and health at Department of Nutrition, Exercise & Sports
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven postdoc for a 33-month position to commence on 1 June 2026. The postdoc will be part of the research group Lifecourse Nutrition and Health.
Our research
The research group Lifecourse Nutrition and Health within the section Nutrition and Health is a part of Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports at University of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg. We focus on the impact of nutrition on health and disease prevention in specific life stages, including pregnancy, infancy, childhood and adults with obesity. We conduct randomized controlled trials with foods and nutrients, measure dietary intake and body composition by gold standard methods, collect and analyze blood samples and conduct various other assessments of health and development.

Your job
As postdoc you would play a key role in the PREPARE-CHILD study (https://nexs.ku.dk/forskning/ernaering-sundhed/lifecourse-nutrition-and-health/pregnancy-and-infancy/preparechild/) and also conduct research related to the APPROACH study (https://nexs.ku.dk/forskning/ernaering-sundhed/lifecourse-nutrition-and-health/pregnancy-and-infancy/approach/), in collaboration with other postdocs in our group. Your tasks would include research within the field of nutrition and diet intervention before and during pregnancy in relation to maternal and infant metabolism and health. This includes management of a randomized controlled trial, examination visits with parents and infants, as well as data processing, statistical analysis and publication of trial and cohort data. The post also includes teaching, supervision, and performance of other duties.
Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:
Necessary experience and skills:
- You have a PhD in Human Nutrition, Medicine or a related field.
- You are highly experienced in managing randomized trials with young children, including biomedical examination visits.
- You have excellent Danish speaking and writing skills, in order to communicate with study families, work with Danish questionnaires etc.
- You have excellent English skills written and spoken
- You have strong communication skills and ability to take lead and work in teams
Desirable experience and skills:
- Teaching experience, preferably within nutrition and pregnancy
- Experience with REDCAP and dietary interviews.
- Publications within nutrition and health in pregnancy
Place of employment
The place of employment is at the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories, a research kitchen and examination facilities for children and adults.
Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 33 months (ie. 2 years and 9 months). The starting date is 1 June 2026 or after agreement.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 35,000 DKK/approx. 4,700 EUR (October 2021 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

The further process
