Experience with development and implementation of novel technologies required.

We are looking for skilled development engineers to help facilitate the transition and innovation of novel technologies developed in the laboratory to pilot- and full-scale level. The projects are centered around electrochemical technologies for capturing, converting or storing gas within the field of green technologies. 

We are looking for candidates to manage the day-to-day leadership and development, coordinating a multitude of small teams/projects of 2-4 persons. 

The job

The responsibilities of the development engineer include:

  • Administration and coordination of a multitude of smaller labscale setups and pilot testing facilities
  • Design pilot plants and laboratory set-ups with advanced configurations for development of innovative processes
  • Take responsibility in implementing, testing and executing new and innovative solutions to help facilitate development
  • Communication with national and international companies on the highest level (CEOs, CTOs, etc.)
  • Networking and sharing of own network to create maximum exposure for projects outside DTU and attract potential new project partners and consortia members
  • Initialize new projects with industrial partners and initialize funding based collaborations
  • Ensure the projects are within the DTU guidelines and strategies
  • Daily personnel management of personal connect to the respective projects.

Our expectations of you

Qualifications:

  • We expect you to have a masters degree or higher
  • We expect you to have obtained education in leadership or have a background in leadership
  • Comprehensive experience with prototyping and innovation (preferably also pilot plant experience)
  • Experience with designing process flow diagrams and P&IDs
  • Networking and people skills
  • Hands on experience from production, construction or similar fields
  • Experience with PLC programming and datalogging
  • Good understanding of the Danish/European visions and strategies within the green transition
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Danish
  • Out-spoken character
  • To be able to put in the extra work when required due to deadlines and off hours networking events
  • Exceptional communication skills, to be able to communicate the vision of the projects to both researchers, CEOs, the public and funding agencies.

Salary and appointment terms

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as a Senior Officer. 

The expected start is 1 April 2026 for 2,5 years until 30 September 2028. 

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
