Student Assistant for International Programmes at DIGNITY – Remote

Then DIGNITY can offer an exciting opportunity as we have an open position as student assistant (15 hours per week) in the Research and Learning team within our department for International Programmes.
The position is temporary and will expire by the end of December 2026.
We are a human rights and development organisation, rehabilitation clinic and knowledge center fighting for a world without torture. For more than 40 years, DIGNITY has been a driving force in the global struggle against torture and violence.
We are engaged in more than 20 countries worldwide in close partnership with civil society organisations, academic institutions and, where possible, with local and national authorities. Our international programmes focus on three core objectives: preventing torture and other forms of violence, pursuing justice for survivors of torture and accountability for perpetrators, and strengthening access to rehabilitation to survivors.
The Research and Learning team is responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing international research projects and for ensuring that adequate and relevant monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is conducted across our partnership programmes. The team both develops innovative and independent research and generates M&E data and analysis that feed into our reporting and enable learning and critical reflection on our activities and our partners’ work. The team consists of 8 research and analysis staff.
About the position
As a student assistant you will be attached to the research project “Everyday violence and environmental change in Uganda” (ENVIU). The project explores the relation between climate change, climate action and violence. It is implemented together with university and civil society partners in Uganda. Your primary tasks will be to assist the Principal Investigator for the project based in Copenhagen and the international ENVIU team. This will include:
- Assisting with research related tasks such as literature reviews, development of tools and protocols, editing, transcribing, coding, analysis and drafting etc.
- Assisting with capacity- and partnership development
- A variety of administrative tasks such as planning meetings, taking minutes, travelling logistics, budgeting and financial reporting
- Communication and dissemination of project information and research activities (including SoMe)
- Assisting with project reporting

Skills
We expect you to be a student at Bachelor or Masters level at a relevant social science education and that you are fluent in English. Furthermore, it is important that you:
- have good knowledge of office software
- are structured and responsible
- are able to manage tasks with a high level of precision
- can work independently and exploratively
- are a good communicator in English
- are a good colleague with strong team-working skills
Terms of employment
The position is placed in DIGNITY's Research and Learning team with reference to the head of Research and Learning.
Your place of employment is Copenhagen at our HQ at Bryggervangen 55, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, Denmark.
Expected entry is 1st of March 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
This is a temporary position that will end no later than December 31st 2026, or upon the student’s completion or withdrawal of their education, whichever occurs first.
Your working hours are 15 hours per week excluding lunch.The employment is based on the Danish collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and OAO-S and collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and HK/Stat §35 regarding students.
