We are looking for one or more qualified teachers to join our High School Student Support team at ISH. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who have learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, ASD, ADHD, or similar needs. The Student Support department plays a vital role in nurturing students' academic progress and social-emotional development, helping them gain the skills necessary to fully participate in school life, access the curriculum, and ultimately lead healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives. At ISH, we are committed to inclusive education and believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed.
This is an hourly paid position, with a rate of approximately 550 DKK for 80 minutes of contact time with students. The number of support lessons per week will depend on both your availability and the current demand. Support may take place either in the classroom or in one-on-one settings. Applicants should hold relevant teaching qualifications and demonstrate a strong commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education.
The specific requirements for the position are listed below:
- Must have a high level of English Proficiency (written and verbal).
- Must have a high level of mathematical ability and experience with High School Mathematics and/or Sciences and/or strong expertise in humanities and language-based subjects.
- Current and applicable teaching qualification(s) and experience in supporting students with identified learning difficulties (SEN classes, learning support, tutoring etc.).
- Ability to evaluate, assess, plan, deliver and reflect on lessons that stimulate and motivate student learning.
- Support and consult with parents and subject teachers regarding the determined program of targeted instruction, in-class modifications/accommodations, and progress in achievement for identified students.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of the educational philosophy of the International Baccalaureate is desirable but not required.
- Knowledge of, and experience with IB inclusion frameworks, such as universal design for learning (UDL) is desirable but not required.
