Medical Director - NSGO Clinical Trial Unit

The Nordic Society of Gynecological Oncology (NSGO) - Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) is pleased to invite applications from qualified NSGO members for the position as Medical Director and Chief of Office for the term 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.

The role involved overall leadership of the NSGO-CTU office at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark and active engagement in the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical trials with in the NSGO-CTU network and international collaborative groups.

Key Responsibilities

The specific tasked, to be agreed upon with the NSGO Clinical Trial Unit Foundation, include but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration with the Strategic Working Group and the NSGO-CTU Scientific Committee on trial development and evaluation, including protocol preparation, budget design and clinical trial agreements.
  • Negotiating budgets with the industry partners and clinical sites; and the Medical Director is authorized to sign financial agreements on behalf of NSGO-CTU.
  • Leading the NSGO-CTU Scientific Committee and chairing its meetings.
  • Representing NSGO-CTU in international co-operative groups (e.g. ENGOT, GCIG, AGO, GINECO etc.).
  • Participating in the GCIG Harmonization Group.
  • Supporting Project Managers in site in communication and trial execution.
  • Overseeing the NSGO-CTU budget and operational expenditures.
  • Leading the administrative office and managing staff recruitment.
  • Ensuring the ongoing professional qualification and development of all hired staff.
  • Safeguarding authorships in scientific articles complies in with ENGOT rules.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate person who:

  • Has been a NSGO member for at least five years.
  • Has participated regularly in the NSGO-CTU Scientific Committee Meetings.
  • Is a gynecologic oncologist (e.g., medical oncologist, radiation oncology, clinical oncologist or a gynecologist with focus on gynecologic oncology).
  • Has substantial experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials.
  • Has solid experience in the treatment of patients with gynecological malignancies.
  • Has demonstrated administrative leadership experience including responsibility for budgeting financial oversight and staff management in a clinical or academic setting.
  • Has authored and co-authored original research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Is fluent in English
  • Is willing and able to travel to intergroup and other scientific meetings on a regular basis.

Terms and Application Process

The position is based at the NSGO-CTU office at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, which will also serve as the primary workplace.

Remuneration is offered at 80% of a full-time salary as senior consultant with the strategic task as Medical Director and Chief of Office as determined by HR department of Rigshospitalet. In the collec-tive agreement between the employers and the Danish Medical no maximum working time has been stipulated, but full time is estimated to be manageable within 37 hours per week.
