Senior Product Manager - PLG at Driversnote (Copenhagen)

The Business

Driversnote is a product-led, profitable SaaS company based in Copenhagen. Our mission is to eliminate tedious work-life hassles, today that means helping people automatically track their mileage for work, saving them time and money. Over around 100,000 customers in 60+ countries rely on Driversnote to keep accurate logbooks, and they consistently give us top ratings (4.7★ average from 100,000+ reviews). We’re a tight-knit team of 40+ across product, design, development, marketing, and support, united by a passion for simplifying our customers’ work lives.

We’ve grown entirely through the strength of the product itself. Until very recently we had no sales team at all. Our growth to 100,000+ customers has come from people discovering, loving, and sharing the app. That foundation makes PLG not just a strategy, but part of our DNA.

The Product

For most users, Driversnote starts as a free mobile app they find in the App Store/Play Store for automated GPS-based mileage tracking. Many begin with our free plan and later subscribe to unlock full features. Our mobile apps are complemented by a robust web application for advanced trip management and audit-ready reports. We began as a B2C product, but are steadily expanding into B2B offerings as well. Our business runs on a healthy freemium model with strong product-led growth: we prioritize user value and rely on qualitative feedback, experiments, and data to drive decisions.

The Way We Work

We follow the Shape Up methodology, working in 8-week cycles (6-week build periods followed by 2-week cooldowns). For each cycle, we form a new cross-functional team that focuses exclusively on delivering a defined project. Between cycles, we fix bugs, tackle small “cooldown” projects, and plan the next bets. Product discovery and definition are done by small shaping trios made up of a Product Manager, Designer, and Tech Lead who shape projects for upcoming cycles. We currently have two shaping trios: one focusing on Individual users (where this role sits) and one focusing on B2B Teams. We like to say our unfair advantage is caring more than our competitors, and our users seem to agree, judging by their reviews and feedback.

The Opportunity

We’re now looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Product-Led Growth. This role will join our Individuals product trio, owning growth initiatives across the entire funnel for our consumer users. You’ll be the champion of product-led growth at Driversnote, driving acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention efforts to propel our next stage of growth. In practice, this means you’ll take charge of key OKRs related to user growth and engagement, and work across teams to achieve them. It’s a high-impact role: you’ll have significant influence on product strategy while still working hands-on with experiments. If you’re excited by the prospect of combining data, design intuition, and user empathy to fuel product growth, this is a unique chance to do just that on a product loved by millions.

The Role

As Senior PM for Product-Led Growth, you will own and execute our growth strategy for individual (B2C) users. You’ll work to ensure that more people discover Driversnote, successfully adopt it, see ongoing value, and become happy paying customers. Concretely, you’ll focus on:

  • Acquisition: Attracting and signing up more users, in close collaboration with our marketing efforts (e.g. optimizing our app store listings and signup flow).
  • Activation: Helping new users experience an “aha!” moment and get to meaningful value faster (e.g. improving onboarding, nudges, notifications).
  • Conversion: Optimizing our free-to-paid funnel. You’ll experiment with ways to increase subscription conversion, from paywall UX to packaging.
  • Retention: Increasing engagement and reducing churn. You’ll identify why users drop off, and design features to boost long-term retention.

Success in this role means improving metrics at each stage of the user journey, but it’s not just about numbers, it’s about deeply understanding our users and ensuring we continue to solve their problems in delightful ways. You’ll spend much of your time in discovery, shaping, and experimentation: identifying opportunities through user research and data analysis, pitching and scoping solutions with your trio, and running a rigorous cadence of experiments to learn what works. You’ll continuously measure results and share learnings with the team.

Examples of projects you might take on: designing a guided onboarding flow that seamlessly connects web and mobile, identifying and nudging the key actions that lead to habit formation, or testing a new freemium packaging idea to see if it increases upgrades without hurting activation.

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years of digital product management or growth experience with a track record of moving product metrics. Have worked with products used by thousands or millions of users, optimally based on self-service with a product-led motion, and are used to working with a high amount of user inputs.
  • Extensive experience running continuous experiments across the funnel - from CRO to broader growth initiatives - with the ability to design, run and interpret trustworthy tests.
  • Highly data-driven and self-sufficient with analytics (we’re using BigQuery & Looker Studio).
  • User-focused mindset: balancing quantitative data with qualitative research. Experienced in uncovering user pains and needs through both qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, usability tests, surveys, etc.)
  • Comfortable working in small, autonomous teams and influencing through vision and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and communication skills (needed for shaping pitches)

What We Believe In

Vision & mission: We work to eliminate work-life hassles to let people focus on what matters. Today, that means removing the pain and trivial work of handling mileage, while providing peace of mind that nothing is forgotten and all rules are followed.

Product-led: We focus our work on the end-user and optimize for bottom-up adoption. People's use of our product is what leads to our growth. We sell through our product and as self-service. We invest in customer success instead of outbound sales. Our marketing is focused on people with a need, leading them to the product.

Lean & data-driven: We try to get a deep understanding of the problems we’re solving. But we also acknowledge that we often can’t predict the outcome of our work. So we believe in an experiment-based approach to product development with short build-measure-learn cycles. For this reason, we also don’t believe in detailed plans for more than 3 months ahead.

Long-term & compounding: We invest in things with a continuous return and compound. We, e.g., prefer to sell fewer licenses to smaller companies that are a good fit and have a long-term relationship rather than win a €100k deal with a company that will never actually benefit from our solution. We’re self-funded, so we don’t stress about the next funding round and take the time to go into depth with our work.

What We Offer

At Driversnote you will be part of an international team composed of talented people who are fun to be around. You will have ample opportunity to influence decisions at all levels, and we hope we can both teach you something and learn something new from you. You’ll get to work with and learn from a team of highly experienced entrepreneurs and tech people, and we’ll set aside resources for independent skill development to help you grow your career.

We work in a relaxed environment with new offices near The Meatpacking District. We get a tasty, freshly cooked lunch every day (vegetarian option available), excellent coffee, cozy Friday drinks, and have great events; from our running club and gaming nights, to our epic Christmas and summer parties.

Since many of us have spouses and kids that we enjoy spending time with, we can honestly say that we offer a healthy work-life balance along with a competitive salary and all the benefits you would expect.
