System Engineer - ipnordic (IT Infrastructure Specialist)

IT Operation team is looking for a new colleague to the continued development and operation of IT infrastructure.

In this role, you will work closely with the rest of the IT Operations team to ensure ongoing optimization of systems and processes.

About you

  • 2+ years of experience in Linux system administration role – or equivalent
  • Experience in various scripting, such as Bash, PowerShell, Python etc.
  • Experience with system configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Networks (firewalls, routing)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Linux and Windows servers (both virtual machines and physical hardware), including web servers, load balancers, mail services, DNS, and databases
  • Install, configure, and manage local and remote network hardware such as firewalls, routers, switches, and access points
  • Perform regular maintenance and provide support for servers and network equipment, including software and firmware upgrades
  • Plan, implement, and maintain disaster recovery solutions, including replication, snapshots, backups, and testing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across all system and network-related devices
  • Conduct daily system monitoring to verify the performance, integrity, and availability of hardware, server resources, and key systems
  • Review system and application logs to ensure overall system health and performance
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of system and network standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality support and services to internal and external stakeholders

Bonus points if you have knowledge of

  • Backup management systems (Veeam, GhettoVCB)
  • Virtualization: KVM, LXC, ESXi
  • Monitoring systems, Zabbix, SNMP
  • Logging: Graylog, ElasticSearch
  • MariaDB clustering
  • CI/CD tooling such as Gitlab and Jenkins
  • Programming languages such as JavaScript (node.js), Go, Ruby etc.
  • Linux containers (Docker), orchestration (such as Kubernetes, Nomad etc.)
