Mission Operation Manager i Geoscience-afdelingen, Aarhus Universitet

Aarhus University seeks a Mission Operation Manager for 1 year to lead operations of the DISCO-2 satellite set for launch in March 2026 and to strengthen Aarhus University’s end-to-end space capability. In addition to DISCO-2, the role provides operational support to other AU projects involving drones, balloons and satellites. The candidate can start April 1 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. 

Key responsibilities

      •     Plan and execute daily mission operations
•     Operate and develop the ground segment
•     Coordinate calibration/validation activities and assure data quality 
•     Manage operations documentation and training
•     Support other drone, balloon and satellite campaigns

Profile

      •     Relevant degree
•     Hands-on experience in mission or ground operations 
•     Familiarity with radios
•     Clear communicator who enjoys training students

The place of employment will be Aarhus University, and the place of work is the Department of Geoscience, Høegh-Guldbergs Gade 2, DK-8000 Aarhus, Denmark.
