Housekeeping Manager – Leadership First, Operations Second
About the Position
We are building a new housekeeping team for a new customer, Motel One in Copenhagen - and we are looking for a strong people leader to lead it.
You will play a key role in in building a team from the ground up and setting standards that will shape the operation from day one.
This role is not about having the longest CV in housekeeping. It is about leadership, structure, accountability, and care.
If you enjoy building teams, setting clear expectations, and creating an environment where people feel supported and take ownership of their work, this role may be for you.
The Role
As Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for a team of approximately 25 housekeepers.
Your most important responsibility is people leadership.
This is a hands-on role with a mix of administration and floor-level leadership. The position is primarily weekdays during working hours, with weekends when you see necessary.
You will:
- Onboard and introduce all new employees to our structured training program and clear procedures
- Personally ensure that every team member is properly trained before working independently
- Set clear standards for quality, behavior, and cooperation - and follow up consistently
- Lead daily operations: staffing, planning, task distribution, and quality follow-up
- Address performance issues eaerly and professionally, including difficult conversations and formal steps when needed
- Collaborate closely with the hotel and internal colleagues
You will be supported by The Ellen Group's HQ team and work closely with the hotel's management to ensure worry-free operations.

About You
We are open to candidates without housekeeping experience.
What matters most is that you:
- Have strong leadership experience, preferably with teams of 15+ people
- Are highly organized and structured
- Are comfortable holding people accountable
- Are calm, fair, and consistent
- Believe that clear rules and expectations create safety, trust and success
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, even under pressure
- Are comfortable using planning tools, schedules, and systems (Excel, workforce planning tools, etc.)
Experience from operations-heavy environments (hospitality, retail, logistics, facilities, production, etc.) is a plus - but not a requirement.
Fluency in English is required. Other languages are an advantage.
